APOLLO VERSION 1.0
Apollo is a system to keep distributed members of a group aware of each other’s presence and activities in a somewhat light hearted manner, while striving to remain independent of local network organizations. The system also aims to facilitate unplanned and informal information as well as communication among distributed friends or colleagues. Apollo consists of a network of peer-2-peer programs situated to each member to provide a tool for sharing speech-annotated media over networked cell phones. By using synchronized audio, Apollo allows people to indirectly stay aware of what others in our community are doing, what they are interested in at the moment, and how available they are for realtime interaction. Altogether, the system provides a relevant audio broadcast to an affinity group of connected mobile users. The objective of Apollo is to keep the world more connected and provide greater social awareness and cohesiveness among people (IYP peeple at the moment).
