The piece…
Basically…while doing my research; I discovered that one of the most common phrases that came around was different forms of “Hello.” People on their cell phones, random meetings, and in conversations, “Hello” were one of the typical phrases that I heard. After I realized that, it made me think of that “I am” piece and I decided that it would be interesting to do it in computer voices. Since basically, some people view the people in that area to be robots anyway.
How the piece will be constructed…
You will be instructed to go to a specific spot on the street and to follow very simple directions. (Mostly for the purpose of getting the listener prepared to listen to the piece)
The piece will be in two formats of voices…mine and the ones on the computer. By using the computer voices the listener is detached from the environment and gets a new look on it.
The final format…
After contemplating each format and considering the pros and cons, I have decided to make it into the podcast. There are many reasons why that format would work better…
-Having the piece played through the headphones gives a more distant feeling
-The listener can connect more with the messages
-With all the street noise it will be able to hear the piece
